Delete your KORA account

This page explains how to delete your KORA account and the data linked to it. KORA is published by KORA Social Network, a company registered in Québec (Canada).

From the app

Open KORA and sign in. Tap Profile, then Settings. At the bottom of the screen, under Danger zone, tap Delete my account, then confirm with Delete.

Deletion is immediate, and a confirmation email is sent to you.

Without the app

If you no longer have the app or can no longer sign in, write to [email protected] from your account's email address, with the subject "Account deletion", and include your public handle if you know it.

We check that the request comes from the account holder, then delete the account and confirm by email, no later than 21 days after your message.

What is erased

The following are permanently erased: your profile (display name, handle, country, bio, profile photo, interests, languages), your email address and date of birth, your videos and their files, your captions and comments, your likes, follows, reposts, blocks, and your sign-in account.

We never restore a deleted account. The database's automatic backups, used only to recover from a failure, still contain this data for at most seven days, then are overwritten.

What remains

Reports you filed remain, stripped of your identity: the link to your account is erased. They are still needed for the safety of other people on KORA.

Reports about your content keep the display name and excerpt recorded at the time of the report, for moderation. The content itself is erased.

Deleting only part of your data

Without deleting your account, you can at any time delete a video or a comment, remove your profile photo or bio, and undo a like, a follow or a repost, from the app.
